Under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Science, the Department of Biology was held a training course entitled
“Extraction techniques” by Dr. Ihssan Mahdi Shahid on Tuesday, 2/9/2021. A number of the faculty professors and technicians were attended.
This session aimed to clarify the methods of extraction and recomend towards using environmentally and friendly extraction methods.
Dr. Ihssan has added how the deal with extraction methods and the suitability of each method according to the material extracted. It was included an illustration of extraction methods using soxhlet and rotary evaborator. As well as, special methods for liquid extraction such cloud point extraction, dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction and assissted membran extraction.
