The faculty of the Science/ University of Kerbala has discussed the M.SC. dissertation entitled ”A Study on Liquid-Liquid Extraction of Cobalt (ᴨ) and Iron (I I I) ions Using an (Azo) Derivative-Sequential Separation and Their Analytical Applications” Which took place in the Great Hall of the College of Science on Wednesday 20/10/2021AD.
The thesis, presented by Hussein Mubarak Mohsen, from the Department of Chemistry Sciences, aims to study the preparation of a new compound, which is one of the azo derivatives, and its diagnosis by the approved spectroscopic methods. After that, the possibility of using this new reagent to extract some ions, including binary cobalt and triple iron, was studied, and the best conditions for the extraction process were studied. Then the thermodynamic functions of the extracted components of the organic phase were studied. Furthermore, a sequential separation of the ions understudy was conducted, where they were successfully separated from each other using the updated method and compatibility.
The study recommends the necessity of keeping the pace of the Iraqi economic units with technological developments and applying (XBRL). Due to advantages, it achieves benefit the economic units and the beneficiaries, which attracts the attention of foreign investment.
