Higher Education, United Nations Program WFP Lunches Bridges Project

During the workshop of launching the Bridges project In cooperation with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research  reviewer that the Bridges project is to enhance development programs and the requirements of global partnership, the Ministry’s Advisor, Dr. Alaa Abd Al-Hassan said.

Dr. Abd Al-Hassan confirmed the Ministry’s keenness on cooperating with the United Nations World Food Program and holding a joint workshop to develop the levels and aspects of supporting the graduates, as well as reviewing the goal of the joint project strengthening the relation between universities and the labor market, enhancing the training environment and developing capabilities and skills.

Dr. Abd Al-Hassan added that the Ministry and its universities are keen on supporting development projects and programs aimed at achieving the requirements of the global partnership and enhancing applied levels.

For his part, World Food Program’ representative to Iraq, Mr. Ali Redha Qureshi said that the environment of cooperation with university educational institutions is an important step towards improving social protection systems and ensuring the ability of university youth to interact with the climate of the various work sectors.

For her part, Counselor for Economic Cooperation and Development of the German Embassy to Iraq, Mrs. Catherine Lorraine said that these projects aim at increasing the involvement of young people in joint work sectors, supporting development projects, improving their economic indicators, proceeding with the promotion of skills and providing the public and private sectors with specialized human resources.a
