Higher Education: On Iraqi Universities Obtain Competitive Scores in The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings

Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings reviewed in its results for 2023, which included six hundred and five international universities that are no more than fifty years old.

Higher Education also reviewed that the official website (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2023/young-university-rankings#!/length/25/locations/IRQ/sort_by/rank/sort_order/asc/cols/stats) highlighted on four Iraqi universities obtained important competitive scores, University of Babylon obtained the score (201-250), University of Technology obtained the score (301-350), University of Anbar obtained the score (351-400) and University of Kufa obtained the score (501+).

Higher Education demonstrated that The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings is based on evaluating institutions according to thirteen indicators divided into five main criteria: education by (30%), scientific research by (30%), citations by (30%), international outlook by (7.5%)and knowledge transfer by (2.5%).

It is worth to be mentioned that Iraqi universities and colleges achived increasing competition in international rankings, including the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, in which the University of Baghdad obtained top score in the chemical engineering major, (The Times) Ranking, in which eight universities obtained top score, (QS) Ranking, in which there are five Universities obtained top score, (Greenmetric) Ranking, in which seventy-three Iraqi Universities and colleges obtained top score and URA Ranking, in which four Iraqi universities obtained top score, as well as (Webometrics) Ranking, which more than one hundred Iraqi universities and colleges obtained top score.
