Higher Education Announces On Thirteen Universities Achieve In Times World Ranking Competitive Results for 2024 & Iraq Achieves 37th Score Worldly

Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research reviewed that Times World Ranking announced the results of its new edition for the year 2024, which classified and evaluated one thousand nine hundred and four universities from one hundred and eight countries around the world.

Higher Education Iraqi universities obtained top scores in the ranking (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2024/world-ranking#!/length/25/locations/IRQ/sort_by/rank/sort_order/asc/cols/stats ) and achieved a significant increase in number comparing to last year’s edition, where the results reviewed that thirteen universities achieved positive scores in terms of global competition, so University of Technology obtained the score (801-1000), Al-Nahrain University obtained the score (1201-1500), Al-Qadisiyah University obtained the score (1201-1500), University of Babylon obtained the score (1201 – 1500), University of Diyala obtained the score (1201 – 1500), University of Anbar obtained the score (1501+), University of Baghdad obtained the score (1501+), University of Basrah obtained the score (1501+), University of Karbala obtained the score (1501+), University of Kufa obtained the score (1501+), Middle Technical University obtained the score (1501) +) University of Mosul obtained the score (1501+) and Mustansiriyah University obtained the score (1501+).

It is worth to be mentioned that Times World Ranking adopts main standards for ranking universities based on eighteen indicators to evaluate and measure performance in five fields: teaching (learning environment) by 29.5%, research environment by 29%, research quality by 30%, international outlook by7.5% and industry income by 4%.

For his part, the representative of the Times Foundation in the Middle East and Africa, Mr. Nicholas Davis announced during the Iraq Education Exhibition and Conference 2023 that Iraq, for the first time, ranks 37th globally in light of the Times results, which indicates the quality of teaching and scientific research:
