During Occasion of Obtaining Iraq’s Score 37th Worldly, Dr. Al-Aboudi Honors Universities That Achieved Competitive Results In Times World Rankings

During the celebration by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the occasion of Iraq obtaining the score thirty-seventh in worldly, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr.  Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi honored the Iraqi universities that achieved competitive results in the Times World Ranking.

Dr. Al-Aboudi stressed on that this achievement was unprecedented in the history of the Iraqi university institution, which is distinguished by its heritage, uniqueness, leadership and scientific presence at the regional level.

His Excellency reviewed that this success would not have been achieved without the combined efforts of everyone in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, its universities and its dedicated faculty members keen on strengthening and enhancing the academic reputation locally, regionally and globally.

Dr. Al-Aboudi added that the results of the international ranking, which ranked Iraq in the thirty-seventh score worldly, bear a clear indication that the institution of Higher Education has a mission and vision linked to a strategy that has a tangible impact in managing reality and dealing with the requirements of the near and distant future and looking at them through a lens that gives clarity to roles and precise definition of responsibilities.

His Excellency continued by saying that this achievement places double responsibility on everyone, starting with the Minister, the university president, the college dean and the head of the branch and department in order to increase the effectiveness of the teaching and learning environment and develop its academic programs.

Dr. Al-Aboudi stressed that this aspect is the necessary prospect to achieve competitive advantage and the ability to improve the level of scientific production.

His Excellency honored the universities that achieved positive scores in the Times World Ranking as the following: Technology, Al-Nahrain, Al-Qadisiyah, Babylon, Diyala, Anbar, Baghdad, Basrah, Karbala, Kufa, Middle Technical, Mosul and Mustansiriyah Universities.

Dr. Al-Aboudi also stressed on that the desired ambition in the coming days does not stop at the level of recommendations, but rather goes beyond that to the stage of real embodiment of the programs responsible for academic modernization, programmatic accreditation and capacity development so that the goals and mission of Higher Education in Iraq are achieved along the lines of advanced global experiences.
