Under the auspices of the presidency of Karbala University and under the supervision of the Deanship of the College of Science, the College of Science held its seventh student conference on Wednesday 22-7-2020 through the Google Meet program. It was held under the slogan: “Scientific Research is a Path for Knowledge and Development towards a Better Future.” The aim of the conference is to discuss the best three graduation research papers in each of the College of Science departments. So, the total number of researches that participated in the conference was 12.
The head of the scientific committee, Dr. Azhar Abdul-Zahra Rahim, presented at the end of the conference a number of recommendations agreed upon by the committee in accordance with the aspirations of scientific research in the world and according to the directives of the Ministry. The recommendations were as follows:
1- Calling for more student conferences and the necessity of supporting them and developing the spirit of scientific research, as always stressed by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.2- Encouraging the scientific research that the ministry and the university stress especially applied research that relates to society as it offers a big benefit if applied in reality. This research needs support by everyone to reach the best scientific and practical results.3- Creating the scientific environment for students to be a field for communication and dialogue between students from different scientific departments and encouraging cooperation among the scientific departments to produce integrated scientific research to solve problems related to society.4- Providing the available means and capabilities, encouraging student research projects, using modern technologies and software, trying to advance undergraduate student research, and publishing research papers in solid scientific periodicals. He added that three scientific types of research have won at the conference. They represented an actual treatment of a scientific problem related to the problems of society. They aimed to apply the natural sciences to solve problems directly related to human life.
