During a field visit to College of Medicine, University of Basra, inaugurating a number of its classrooms and laboratories and touring the specialized university hospital project, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi reviewed the educational environment for branches of internal medicine, surgery, microbiology, medicines, diseases, forensic medicine, human anatomy, biochemistry, physiology and community medicine.
Dr. Al-Aboudi also reviewed that the College of Medicine in Basrah is one of the specialized educational institutions recognized for its leadership.
His Excellency praised its clear contribution to community service and the use of the results of its scientific research in the fields of treatment and health care, as well as Its scientific staff has strived to provide preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic services to the community and to increase the momentum of medical education in a way that suits the goals of the university institution and its academic mission.
Dr. Al-Aboudi stressed on the importance of enhancing training climates for students in order to achieve the goals and effectiveness of quality in the educational environment and the related development of specialized skills among students and enable them to acquire the necessary knowledge and interest in research fields that provide global cooperation in terms of joint research and exchange of scientific expertise.
His Excellency added the Ministry succeeded in making a fundamental amendment to some paragraphs related to the disbursement mechanisms of education funds to remove bottlenecks and reduce the effects of financial challenges, which will give room for building and developing the scientific capabilities of universities and open more horizons for the implementation of specialized programs in university and postgraduate studies.
