During a meeting with the Ambassador of the European Union to Iraq, Mr. Villa Fariola and his accompanying delegation, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi reviewed horizons of cooperation and fields of international partnership between Iraq and the European Union countries in the fields of university education and joint work spaces within the development environment and the fields of specialized scientific research.
Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted that the Iraqi Higher Education is keen on benefiting from successful experiences in the European region, especially with regard to the Bologna Process, which was adopted in Iraqi universities and what associated with it of the advanced educational systems, as well as the application of academic expertise provided by the state and organizations to develop the Higher Education’s sector in general.
His Excellency demonstrated the importance of cooperation between the two sides to develop joint initiatives, programs and projects that serve friendly peoples.
Dr. Al-Aboudi continued by saying that Iraq is looking forward to increase cooperation opportunities with the European Union and extend development bridges in the scientific and academic sectors in order to raise educational levels, as well as facilitating the participation of Iraqi researchers and faculty members in conferences and workshops held in the European Union countries.
For his part, Mr. Fariola praised the decision of His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi on adopting the Bologna Process in technical universities.
Mr. Fariola expressed the European Union countries’ readiness providing the necessary support for the success of this track.
