During a field visit to the University of Baghdad, the International Team for Academic Evaluation reviewed indicators of performance, quality and scientific research in light of the requirements of international ranking, especially The Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
The international team demonstrated at the University of Baghdad the future of variables related to specialized knowledge and indicators of competition and obtaining the international rankings by the university and what this aspect requires in terms of supporting of quality and modernizing of academic programs.
The international team also reviewed with the President of the University of Baghdad, Deans of its Colleges and its specialists the organizational requirements for communicating with international universities and benefiting from their experiences and expertise in the field of building scientific and academic partnerships and adopting advanced educational responsible patterns for enhancing the ability of providing climates for evolving the graduates in the labor market.
The international team continued by saying that the two sides also demonstrated the achieved steps in the Iraqi Higher Education’s environment, which is witnessing positive changes represented by adopting Bologna Process and the associated modernization of educational systems and programs in the universities, as well as the field visit aimed at following-up and evaluating program conducted by the International Team for Academic Evaluation for Iraqi universities included in The Times Higher Education World University Rankings and nominated to compete in it.
It is worth mentioning that the International Team for Academic Evaluation included, Dean of Higher Education and Emerging Technologies in the Queensland Government and former Vice-Chancellor of the Australian Union University, Dr. Talal Youssef, Head of the Times Ranking for the Middle East and Africa, Dr. Steve Hall, Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology at the Australian University of Queensland, Mr. Nick Davis and Head of academy professor malayasia, Dr. Salih Jaafar.
