During a meeting with the Secretary General of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, Dr. Abdul-Majeed Bin Muhammad Al-Habib Benamarah, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi renewed Iraq and its academic institutions’ keenness on enhancing scientific and research cooperation with Arab countries through the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils in order to achieve positive integration between Arab universities and research centers.
Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed the importance of developing scientific partnerships that would contribute to meet the fields of sustainable development and its goals.
His Excellency stressed on that the university education in Iraq is on the verge of an important modernization in terms of educational systems and curricula, which necessitated the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to adopt a project (study in Iraq) to admit foreign students in Iraqi universities, especially after their advancement in the aspect of competition within international rankings.
For his part, Dr. Benamarah praised the project to attract foreign students in Iraq.
Dr. Benamarah expressed his wishes for the success of the initiative and its program dedicated to study in the Iraqi universities, as well as stressing on the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils’ keenness on developing the exchange of experiences and holding conferences that support the development of cooperation in the fields of different specialization.
