During a meeting with the Director of the British Council in Iraq, Mr. Jim Petrie, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi reviewed the course of joint study and training programs with Iraqi universities.
Dr. Al-Aboudi said that the Iraqi university institutions are looking forward to positive partnerships in the field of Higher Education and Scientific Research and to benefit from international universities and international expertise in the field of updating programs and curricula.
His Excellency added that the Ministry’s decision to adopt the Bologna course in Iraqi universities has provided an important impetus in terms of cooperation and academic exchange.
Dr. Al-Aboudi stressed on the importance of cooperation and the conclusion of memorandums of understanding in the field of training programs for students, researchers and faculty members in all specializations, especially with regard to develop the required skills by the business environment.
For his part, Mr. Petrie praised the track of priorities adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the development of the university educational system, the adoption of the Bologna Process in university institutions and the launch of the “Study in Iraq” initiative to attract international students within cultural exchange programs.
