During laying the foundation stone for the project of classrooms for the medical group and the supplementary phase project for dormitories at the University of Babylon, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi stressed that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is actively following the indicators of implementing university projects with the aim at achieving the highest level of quality requirements imposed by the scientific and academic environment and the associated classrooms and specialized laboratories that keep pace with the solid international standards that would enhance the foundations of medical and health education in Iraq.
Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed that work is continuing to complete urban projects in Iraqi universities in cooperation with local governments in the Governorates, especially with regard to the housing role for workers in university institutions and the establishment of new dormitories capable of accommodating the indicator of growth in the number of students, as well as creating an educational environment that meets the requirements of modern educational and academic programs.
His Excellency inaugurated a number of specialized laboratories in a number of colleges of the medical group.
Dr. Al-Aboudi confirmed during a joint press conference with the Governor and President of the university that the universities in Babylon are making a qualitative effort in the field of providing educational services that are consistent with the needs of society, respond to development requirements and deal consciously with challenges.
His Excellency highlighted that there is a firm academic and scientific conviction of Higher Education and its institutions of the need for continuous and effective engagement with the horizon of the coming academic years in light of the determinants of the national strategy for education in Iraq.
It is worth to be mentioned that the visit was attended by Governor of Babylon, Mr. Wissam Aslan Al-Jubouri, President of the University, Dr. Qahtan Al-Jubouri and a number of university presidents, assistants and deans of colleges.
