During a field visit to a number of infrastructure projects and classrooms at the Universities of Baghdad and Al-Nahrain, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi followed up implementing projects and halls according to the indicators of the need to expand the capacity of the university environment in order to accommodate the increasing demand for university education.
Dr. Al-Aboudi stressed on the universities’ readiness on admitting the new academic year 2023/2024.
His Excellency reviewed that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its universities are working on a studied procedural policy that is closely linked to the National Strategy for Education in Iraq (2031/2021).
Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted that these intensive visits and follow-ups represent a governmental commitment to develop climates of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
His Excellency continued by saying that the modernization of university buildings and the completion of its projects comes in line with the requirements of a fundamental transformation in the educational and academic aspect through the adoption of the Bologna Process in engineering and science specialties in public and private universities.
Dr. Al-Aboudi also reviewed a detailed explanation from the President of the University of Baghdad, Dr. Munir Al-Saadi, and the President of Al-Nahrain University, Dr. Ali Abdel Aziz Al-Shawi, about the timeline of project implementation and the foundations for completing it in light of the federal State’s budget.
