During a meeting with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mr. Rafael Mariano Grossi, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Head of the Atomic Energy Commission Dr.  Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi reviewed the International Agency’s support for Iraq in the peaceful use of atomic energy in many scientific fields that serve the sustainable development environment and its goals.

Dr. Al-Aboudi stressed the importance of cooperation with the International Agency in the field of fragmentation and production of radioactive isotopes, enabling Iraq to combat cancer, supporting the agricultural sector, combating insects, desalinating well water for agricultural purposes, using clean energy in producing electricity, confronting climate change and strengthening knowledge programs in nuclear specializations in universities and academic institutions.
