Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s delegation held a meeting with its counterpart in the Islamic Republic of Iran on the challenges and problems faced by Iraqi students studying in a number of Iranian universities.
Higher Education’s delegation reviewed the procedures related to the admission of Iraqi students and the problems that may arise during study.
Higher Education’s delegation affirmed its support for the official Iranian course of dealing with the Universities of Religions and Sects and the Azadi University of Isfahan, taking into account the solid academic requirements required by the requirements of the academic environment and the accreditation specifications in the scholarship guide and private expenses, while the Iranian side described the decision of the Iraqi Ministry of Education as positive regarding the accreditation of solid universities outside Iraq.
Higher Education’s delegation highlighted that the two sides agreed to organize and update procedures that would overcome the challenges facing Iraqi students and not to impose any additional requirements that are not required by the academic field of study, while the delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research renewed the readiness of Iraqi universities on admitting international students within the Study in Iraq initiative.
It is worth to be mentioned that the Ministry’s delegation was represented by the Deputy for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Haider Abd Dahd, with a participation of Director General of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Dr. Hazim Baqir Taher and Cultural Advisor, Dr. Yasser Abd Al-Zahra, as well as the Iranian side was Minister’s Deputy of Science, Research and Technology for International Affairs, Dr. Wahid Haddadi Asl, Minister’s Deputy of Science, Research and Technology, founding president of student affairs, Dr. Dadash Pour and a number of advisors.
