The College of Science at the University of Karbala conducted a training course on the use of chromatography technology, featuring Assistant Professor Maisa Taqi Abdulhassan, Lecturer Mais Ibrahim Al-Wakil, and Lecturer Zahraa Rahim Kazim as presenters.
The three-day course aimed to familiarize participants with medicinal plants, their significance in our lives, and the types of active compounds present in them.
The course covered explaining the methods for extracting active compounds, the techniques for fractionation, introducing the VLC technique and its importance in fractionating plant extracts, and demonstrating how to work with it in the laboratory to fractionate and simplify active compounds for easier obtaining of pure compounds.
