The College of Science at the University of Karbala organized a training course on the use of thin-layer chromatography technique, with the participation of a group of students, researchers, and specialists.

The aim of the course was to introduce the participants to chromatography fundamentally and to explain the thin-layer chromatography technique and its working principle, in addition to understanding the advantages used in its separation method.

The course included an explanation of the types of adsorbents and particle sizes used in TLC in each type, as well as an explanation of the mobile phase in TLC technique and what this phase depends on, as well as a statement of the types of solvents used in this technique.

The course also included a detailed explanation of the general techniques in TLC and how to prepare a plate in this technique, clarifying its standard conditions and the advantages it offers .
