During an expanded meeting with the Turkish Higher Education Council, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi reviewed the prospects for joint academic work and the contexts of understanding between the universities of the two countries.
Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s keenness and aspiration for more bilateral relations, scientific partnerships and the development of cooperation aspects at the level of scientific research.
His Excellency expressed the Ministry’s readiness on studying the Turkish University project in Iraq and its specializations that serve the interests of the two neighboring countries.
Dr. Al-Aboudi added that university education in Iraq is moving within the scope of global standards according to a strategic vision that enhances the environment of cooperation and coordination with countries in the region and the world in a way that serves the goals and mission of university institutions.
His Excellency also reviewed that Iraqi universities have achieved positive steps in the field of improving quality and achieving important indicators related to a solid academic reputation.
For his part, the Chairman of the Turkish Higher Education Council, Dr. Arul Ozwar expressed the desire of the Turkish side to develop joint cooperation programs and scientific and academic understandings, as well as describing the visit of the Iraqi delegation headed by His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi to Turkey as a historical turning point in terms of deepening ties between the two countries in the field of higher education and scientific research.
