The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Science, University of Karbala, organized an educational seminar titled “Green Education and Environmental Sustainability.”
The seminar, presented by Professor Dr. Lama Majid Ahmed, a faculty member from the Department of Chemistry, aimed to introduce the attendees to the concept of green education as defined by UNESCO.
The seminar included an overview of green education and its positive impact on the environment. It also highlighted the importance of increasing green spaces and preparing generations capable of preserving a sustainable environment.
It is worth noting that the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is working towards implementing the National Strategy for Iraqi Women, particularly in the area of enhancing women’s roles in managing climate change risks and protecting the environment. This initiative calls for activities that promote green education practices and methods.
