The College of Science at Karbala University organized a training course titled “XRD Data Analysis Using X’Pert Software.”
The course aimed to familiarize faculty members and postgraduate students with the practical and applied use of the software for XRD data analysis.
The course included a brief theoretical introduction to XRD technology, Scherrer equations, and Miller indices. It also introduced participants to the capabilities of the X’Pert software in analyzing XRD spectra, identifying characteristic peaks, and calculating essential parameters such as interplanar spacings (D). Participants were trained to compare XRD spectra with the software’s database to identify standard and reference patterns.
Additionally, the course covered installing the software, setting up a standard pattern database, and generating analytical reports that include reference values and Miller indices (hkl). Real experimental data were used to apply the software effectively for result analysis.
