The Department of Physics at the College of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a training course titled “Principles and Fundamentals of Nuclear Medicine”, aiming to introduce participants to its applications in diagnosis and treatment while promoting a culture of radiation safety.
The course covered the concept of nuclear medicine, the types of radioactive isotopes used in medical applications, and their mechanisms in medical examinations through devices such as PET Scan and CT Scan. It also addressed methods for handling radioactive sources and radiation protection measures.
The course concluded with a discussion session that fostered a fruitful exchange of scientific knowledge among participants.
