College of Science Organizes a Training Course on “Medical Physics: Theory and Application”

The Department of Physics at the College of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a specialized training course for students of the Medical Physics branch, titled “Medical Physics: Theory and Application.”
The course aimed to introduce medical physics and its various branches, with a focus on its applications in diagnosis and treatment, particularly in radiation-related fields and modern medical technologies.
The session covered:
An introduction to medical physics and its importance.
The key branches of medical physics, including diagnostic physics, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, and health and biomedical physics.
Recent advancements, especially the use of lasers in diagnosis and treatment and the role of radiation physics in cancer therapy.
Various medical applications such as ultrasound (sonar) and modern imaging technologies.
