The Department of Chemistry at the College of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a training workshop titled “Plastic Products and Their Negative Environmental Impact.”
The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the concept of plastics, their significance, composition, types, and properties.
Additionally, the session covered:
Global plastic production trends from 1950 to 2018.
Issues related to food contamination by plastics.
Colored plastics and added chemical compounds.
The role of adhesive films, their carcinogenic effects, and the dangers of non-biodegradable materials on the environment and wildlife.
Preventive measures and alternative solutions.
