The Department of Physics at the Faculty of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a specialized training course for students and interested participants under the title “Types of Environmental Pollution in Iraq.” The course aimed to introduce different types of pollution and their impact on the environment and public health.
The course covered several key topics, including chemical pollution, such as elevated levels of lead and zinc, and radiation pollution, focusing on increased concentrations of radon gas and uranium in the surrounding environment. Additionally, the course examined the causes of rising pollution levels in Iraq, presenting the latest environmental statistics linking pollution to higher disease rates, particularly cancer.
