The Department of Physics at the College of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a training course titled “Physical Parameters Derived from the Structural Properties of Materials.” The course aimed to study the physical parameters of materials through XRD analysis and calculate them using Excel to better understand their crystalline structure.
The course provided a detailed explanation of the interaction between X-rays and prepared materials and highlighted their significance in studying crystal structures. It also covered the equations related to XRD analysis and key parameters that can be extracted, such as lattice constants, Miller indices, and dislocations. Additionally, a practical session was conducted to train participants on calculating these parameters using Excel.
