The Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Hassan Jameel Jawad, along with his assistants and the Head of the Department of Biology, received a ministerial committee formed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to explore the possibility of establishing a Microbiology Branch at the college.
During the visit, the committee inspected the designated classrooms and laboratories, as well as the department’s administrative offices, faculty offices, and the examination committee room.
The committee held discussions with the college administration and officials from the Department of Biology regarding the requirements for launching this specialization, including the availability of qualified staff and the necessary equipment.
The committee expressed its satisfaction with the college’s impressive capabilities and affirmed its support for the college’s plans to develop academic programs that meet the needs of the labor market.
It is worth noting that the establishment of a Microbiology Branch will contribute to preparing specialized human resources in a rapidly advancing field, both in Iraq and globally, due to its significant practical applications.
