This recognition is considered a significant achievement for Iraq, reflecting Baghdad’s fulfillment of several approved evaluation criteria, including efficiency in tourism management, infrastructure readiness, diversity of tourism resources and activities, environmental preservation, health safety, and tourism stability and security.
The title aims to highlight Baghdad’s cultural and civilizational uniqueness, promote intra-Arab tourism, and enhance Iraq’s status on the regional and international tourism map.
It is noteworthy that this accomplishment was made possible through the joint efforts of the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, and supporting bodies. It represents a strategic step toward strengthening Iraq’s role in the Arab and international tourism and cultural spheres.
