The Women’s Affairs Unit at the Faculty of Science, University of Kerbala, organized an awareness campaign in September under the theme: “Climate Change in Iraq: An Environmental Crisis and a Societal Responsibility.”
The campaign included the distribution of informational brochures addressing climate change and its environmental impacts, with particular emphasis on Iraq being among the most affected countries by climate phenomena such as drought, desertification, dust storms, and water scarcity. The materials also highlighted the role of Iraqi citizens in confronting these challenges through individual efforts and community initiatives.
This campaign was carried out within the framework of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025), under the “Protection and Prevention” pillar, implemented by the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Science – University of Kerbala.
