Faculty of Science Organizes a Training Course Entitled “Preparation and Study of Linear and Nonlinear Optical Properties of Nanomaterials and Their Applications”

The Department of Physics at the Faculty of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a training course titled “Preparation and Study of Linear and Nonlinear Optical Properties of Nanomaterials and Their Applications” as part of a series of scientific programs aimed at enhancing the skills of students and researchers in materials science and its modern applications.

The course provided a comprehensive discussion on the concepts of nanomaterials and their synthesis methods, in addition to studying their linear optical properties such as absorption, transmittance, and optical spectra. It also explored nonlinear optical properties and their interaction mechanisms with light, emphasizing their major applications in optical switching, sensor fabrication, and optical communications.

Furthermore, the course highlighted the significance of nanomaterials in developing advanced materials that contribute to improving the performance of optical and medical devices due to their high efficiency and excellent stability under various environmental conditions.

At the conclusion of the course, participants were given a survey to evaluate the benefits gained from the scientific content and to assess their perspectives on the role of nanomaterials in advancing applications in energy, medicine, and communications.

The course was delivered by:

Prof. Dr. Khawla Jameel Taher

Prof. Dr. Raja Abdulameer Madloul

Prof. Dr. Firas Kamel Mohammed

Prof. Dr. Noor Jawad Redha
