Faculty of Science at the University of Kerbala Organizes a Training Course on Applications of Oxidation–Reduction Reactions in Chemical Processes

The Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a specialized training course entitled “Applications of Oxidation–Reduction Reactions in Chemical Processes.” The course aimed to introduce participants to the fundamental principles of oxidation and reduction, enhance their skills in balancing chemical equations, and develop their analytical and practical competencies through a series of theoretical and experimental activities.

The course covered an explanation of the basic concepts of oxidation–reduction and oxidation numbers, methods for balancing equations using both the half-reaction and algebraic methods, and practical applications in industry, medicine, and energy. In addition, the course included laboratory-based practical and experimental components, evaluation methods, and a discussion of future application prospects in line with ongoing scientific developments.

The course was delivered by:

Assist. Prof. Suhad Karim Abbas

Ms. Zainab Mahmoud Hassan

Assist. Lecturer Wissam Abbas Ali
