Faculty of Science Organizes a Training Course Entitled “Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis Using HPLC”

The Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a training course entitled “Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis Using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Sample Handling.”

The course aimed to introduce participants to High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) from all aspects, as a powerful separation, purification, and qualitative and quantitative analytical technique used for the analysis of a wide range of chemical compounds.

The course included an introduction to the concept and theory of HPLC, as well as the operating principle of the instrument, which is based on pumping a liquid mobile phase under high pressure through a column packed with a solid stationary phase, where the components of a mixture are separated according to their different interactions with the stationary phase. The course also covered sample preparation and handling procedures, and concluded with hands-on practical training on the use of the HPLC instrument for qualitative and quantitative analysis.

The course was delivered by:

Professor Dr. Sajid Hassan Kazzar

Assistant Professor Dr. Ihsan Mahdi Shaheed

Lecturer Dr. Suad Turki Abdul Abbas

The course provided comprehensive knowledge integrating theoretical fundamentals with practical applications, making it valuable for researchers, students, and professionals interested in the field of chemical analysis.
