The Department of Chemistry at the College of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a training course entitled “Molecular Docking for Assessing the Biological Activity of Organic Compounds.” The course aimed to introduce researchers and faculty members to the fundamentals of molecular docking and its significance in organic chemistry and pharmaceutical development.
The course covered the theoretical aspects of molecular docking, the preparation of three-dimensional structures of proteins and ligands, the use of software such as AutoDock and PyRx, and the analysis of results and their applications in drug discovery, mutation studies, and vaccine development.
The course was delivered by:
Lecturer Dr. Haider Raheem Ali
Assistant Lecturer Haitham Fadhil Abdulhassan
Research Assistant Ali Raheem Abbas
Research Assistant Jalal Jameel Jahel
