College of Science Organizes an Awareness Workshop Titled “The Aware Student: How to Protect Yourself from Extremist Thought”

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Hassan Jameel Jawad Al-Fatlawi, and in cooperation with the University Psychological Counseling Unit and the Women’s Religious Guidance Unit at the Holy Abbasid Shrine, an awareness workshop titled “The Aware Student: How to Protect Yourself from Extremist Thought” was held, with the attendance of a number of undergraduate students and staff members.

The workshop was presented by Ms. Raja Ali Mahdi Al-Buhani, who addressed several key themes focusing on enhancing students’ intellectual awareness, explaining ways to prevent extremist ideologies, and emphasizing the importance of critical thinking and building an aware personality capable of discernment and analysis.

The workshop witnessed notable interaction from attendees through constructive discussions and interventions, which contributed to enriching students’ cognitive and awareness-related knowledge.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the organizers commended the efforts made to ensure its success, affirming their commitment to continuing such purposeful activities that contribute to building students’ intellectual and psychological awareness.
