College of Science Organizes a Training Course on the Proper Handling and Storage of Laboratory Materials and Methods of Sterilizing Tools and Supplies

The Safety and Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Security Unit at the College of Science, in cooperation with the Department of Biology, organized a training course entitled “Proper Handling and Storage of Laboratory Materials and Methods of Sterilizing Tools and Supplies.”

The course aimed to introduce participants to the best practices for handling various laboratory materials and to explain the correct scientific procedures for the safe storage of substances. It also addressed effective methods for sterilizing laboratory tools and supplies used in scientific experiments, ensuring the safety of individuals and the reliability of research outcomes.

The course included both theoretical and practical lectures, focusing on the following topics:

General laboratory safety rules and the importance of adhering to them.

Optimal methods for storing chemical and biological materials according to their specific properties.

Practical applications of sterilization and disinfection techniques for laboratory tools and supplies.

Preventive measures and risk control procedures for potential hazards within laboratories.

This course is part of a series of training programs implemented by the College to enhance the capabilities of students and researchers in the field of laboratory safety and scientific research applications. Such initiatives contribute to enriching their expertise and providing a safe and advanced learning environment.
