The Safety and Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Security Unit at the College of Science, in cooperation with the Department of Biology, organized a training course entitled “Safe Use of Biological Samples and Methods of Their Transport, Storage, and Disposal.”
The course aimed to provide postgraduate students with fundamental knowledge of biosafety and biosecurity, with a particular focus on the safe handling of various biological samples. It also addressed the most effective methods for storing and transporting these samples within or outside laboratories, as well as the correct scientific procedures for their disposal after use, in order to prevent potential risks to public health and the environment. The course included intensive theoretical and practical training to apply modern scientific rules and best practices.
The organizers emphasized the importance of adhering to scientifically approved biosafety standards and ensuring that researchers and students possess a thorough understanding of the regulations and procedures that minimize potential risks when dealing with hazardous or sensitive biological materials.
