As part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness and serve the wider community, the Al-Razzaza and Western Euphrates Research Unit, in collaboration with the “Friends of the Environment” group, organized an outreach awareness activity beyond the university setting. The initiative aimed to disseminate a culture of rational water and electricity consumption within the local community.
The activity involved the distribution of informational cards featuring awareness messages on the importance of efficient water and energy use. These were accompanied by keychains bearing the “Friends of the Environment” logo, designed to reinforce environmental concepts through practical and accessible everyday items.
The activity was conducted at the Karbala Antiquities and Heritage Inspectorate, where it received positive engagement from staff members, who expressed their appreciation for the initiative and its role in fostering sustainable environmental practices.
This activity forms part of a broader series of initiatives through which the Research Unit seeks to extend its impact beyond the university and strengthen partnerships with community institutions in pursuit of sustainable development goals.
