During a meeting with the Swedish Ambassador to Iraq, Mrs. Jessica Svardstrom, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr.  Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi reviewed the horizon of scientific and academic cooperation between the universities of the two countries.

Dr. Al-Aboudi confirmed that Iraqi universities are ready to develop cooperation with their Swedish counterparts in the fields of cultural exchange, scholarships, twinning between universities and joint scientific research.

His Excellency said that the Ministry has established serious steps for academic coordination and cooperation with the European Union countries in order to benefit from expertise and successful experiences in the field of developing Higher Education sector, especially with regard to the Bologna Process and educational systems.

For her part, Mrs. Svardstrom expressed her country appreciation for the vision in which the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research operates.

Mrs. Svardstrom stressed on her country’s readiness on opening positive horizons between educational institutions in both countries and developing bilateral relations through international conferences, exchange visits and organizing memorandums of academic understanding.
