The master’s dissertation entitled “Isolation and Diagnosis of Staphylococcus aureus from Different Sources and its partial characterization” in the College of Science at the University of Kerbala was discussed by the student Fatima Salem Obaid included isolation of Staphylococcus aureus from wounds, burns, blood, urine and skin, then the diagnosis of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, as well as a study of the resistance of this bacteria to other antibiotics and its relationship. This resistance with biofilms and study their ability to produce hemolytic enzyme as well as proteolytic enzyme and partially characterize Staphylococcus aureus
The study aims to assess the risk of infection with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in the holy city of Karbala
The study concluded an increase in the proportions of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in the holy city of Karbala, and it is also matched by an increase in the bacteria’s resistance to other antibiotics, in addition to its production of some virulence factors, as well as a decrease in the activity of the hemolysin enzyme, despite the presence of the gene encoding it in all isolates.
