During the joint ceremony held at the headquarters of the Federal Integrity Commission to launch the awareness program with Iraqi universities, in implementation of the contents of the national strategy for integrity and combating corruption, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi affirmed adopting of specialized academic programs in the field of integrity, combating corruption and providing the necessary environment for training and education in cooperation with the Federal Integrity Commission.
Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed that educational institutions are keen on institutional integration with the Federal Integrity Commission in order to achieve its national goals for which all Iraqis bear responsibility.
His Excellency reviewed that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is responsible for achieving the goals of its academic institutions and its educational mission and should not back down under the influence of circumstances or reduce the quality of institutional performance so as not to allow the claw of corruption to leave its mark on the body of society.
Dr. Al-Aboudi added that this message represents a moral and professional foundation that requires the university institution to provide more support, interaction and collaboration with the Integrity Commission and to emphasize the adoption of specialized academic programs that have a direct impact on dismantling the phenomenon of corruption and providing an environment for continuous training and education for all staff so that we can face the scourge of corruption with the weapon of science and moral and national responsibility.
For his part, the Head of the Commission of Integrity, Judge Haidar Hanoun affirmed that the commission, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the regulatory agencies and state institutions bear the responsibility to face the challenge posed by corruption and reduce it.
Judge Hanoun expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its interaction with the Federal Integrity Commission through programs, conferences, workshops and awareness symposiums in the environment of Iraqi universities.
For his part, Ministry’s advisor, Dr. Alaa Abd Al-Hassan Attia said that the indicators of positive cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Integrity Commission resulted from a ministerial committee that included many leaders and experts from these two institutions, as well as awareness program to spread the culture of integrity in universities, educational institutions are looking forward to strengthening this partnership, which would enhance the chances of success and achieve ambition in building the nation and protecting its holy land.
