Higher Education Launches Program Accreditation Standards for Scientific Specialties

During the ceremony held by the National Council for Accreditation of Science Specialization Programs in cooperation with the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation in the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Apparatus, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched programmatic accreditation standards for scientific specialties in Iraqi universities within the context of national programmatic standards.

Higher Education reviewed that the program accreditation standards for science majors include nine standards, as follows:

the objectives of the educational program, the educational program outcomes and their evaluation, curricula, continuous improvement, students, academics, faculty members, administrative and financial support and university facilities and services.

For their part, Director of the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation, Dr. Salah Al-Fatlawi and the head of the National Council for Accreditation of Scientific Specialization Programs, Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak highlighted that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is working to complete the launch of program accreditation standards so that all specializations are covered, as well as reviewing that accreditation programs are among the most important indicators of the level of recognition of scientific studies for universities.
