University of Karbala Organizes Training Course on “Heart Palpitations in Youth”

The College of Science at the University of Karbala organized a training course titled “Heart Palpitations in Youth.”

The course aimed to differentiate between normal and potentially dangerous heart palpitations, to provide guidance on what to do in case of palpitations, and to identify the symptoms of heart palpitations. It also covered the differences between rapid heartbeats and palpitations, along with steps to take in response to palpitations and necessary precautionary measures.

The course addressed the causes of rapid heartbeats in young individuals, revealing that they are often driven by various factors, many of which are typically not serious. Key factors include:
– Physical exercise: During exercise, the heart rate accelerates to meet the body’s increased demand for oxygen and blood.
– Stress and anxiety: Stress and anxiety can increase the activity of the cardiac nervous system, leading to a faster heart rate.
