Department of Physics at the Faculty of Science, University of Karbala, organized a training course titled “Physical Parameters from the Optical Properties of Materials.” The course aimed to introduce participants to parameters resulting from the interaction of light with materials, such as the optical energy gap and refractive index, and methods for calculating them using Excel software.

The course covered the use of optical spectrometer devices, a comparison between their types, and the wavelength range for each. It also highlighted their practical applications in scientific research.
