University of Kerbala’s College of Science Holds Seminar on “The Use of Chalcones as Intermediates in the Synthesis of Heterocyclic Compounds with Medical Applications”

The Department of Chemistry at the College of Science, University of Karbala, organized a scientific seminar titled “The Use of Chalcones as Key Intermediates in the Synthesis of Various Heterocyclic Compounds with Broad Medical and Pharmaceutical Applications”, delivered by Professor Dr. Zaid Hassan Aboud.
The seminar aimed to introduce chalcone compounds and classify them as active organic compounds, with a focus on the general methods of synthesizing chalcones and the reactions they undergo with various reagents to form heterocyclic compounds.
The seminar also reviewed the wide range of applications of these compounds in the medical, pharmaceutical, and therapeutic fields, highlighting their significance in the development of new drugs and effective treatments.
