The College of Science at the University of Kerbala organized a training workshop titled \u201cCybersecurity for Beginners: Understanding Threats and How to Counter Them\u201d. The session was conducted by Assistant Professor Dr. Rafif Fawzi Najm, Lecturer Zainab Khudhur Mohsen, and Lecturer Basma Mustafa Mohammed.<\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to raise awareness among beginners and individuals interested in learning the foundational principles of information security in the digital realm. It also sought to promote a culture of cybersecurity among participants.<\/p>\n

Key topics covered in the workshop included: an introduction to cybersecurity and its significance; common digital threats such as phishing and malware; best practices for creating strong and secure passwords; the importance of enabling two-factor authentication to protect accounts; methods for defending against social engineering; and guidelines for safe browsing and responsible internet use.<\/p>\n

This initiative is part of the College of Science\u2019s ongoing efforts to enhance public awareness of cybersecurity and foster a strong digital safety culture across all segments of society.<\/p>\n
