Dr. Ali Jabbar Abdul-Hussein Al-Kawwaz, a faculty member in the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Science, University of Kerbala, has achieved a new scientific accomplishment in collaboration with Assist. Prof. Dr. Maryam Sabah Nasser and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Jaleel Obeid from the faculty of Biotechnology at Al-Qasim Al-Khadraa
\nUniversity. Their distinguished research was published in PharmaKeftiki journal (Vol. 37, Issue 2S, 2025).<\/p>\n
The study, titled \u201cComparison of Various Helicobacter pylori Diagnostic Techniques in Samples Isolated from Iraqi Patients,\u201d focuses on evaluating and comparing different diagnostic methods for H. pylori infection in samples obtained from Iraqi patients, emphasizing the accuracy and efficiency of non-invasive tests such as the urea breath test, stool antigen test, and serological assays.<\/p>\n
The findings revealed that the 13C-urea breath test (UBT)^ demonstrated the highest sensitivity and specificity, making it the most reliable method for diagnosing H. pylori infection in Iraq. However, the stool antigen test was identified as a cost-effective alternative that maintains an acceptable level of diagnostic accuracy.<\/p>\n
This achievement strengthens the University of Kerbala\u2019s standing in the field of applied medical research and underscores the leading role of its colleges in serving the community through high-quality scientific contributions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
