During the graduation ceremony of students of the third session at Al-Karkh University of Science for the academic year 2021/2022, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi reviewed that the support and development of the inaugurated universities represents an utmost necessity to address the quantitative indicator in preparing new students in institutions of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Dr. Al-Aboudi said that this necessary development gives additional accommodating spaces, opens the way for treatments and gives the opportunity to review and improve the university environment with international standard determinants.
His Excellency added that the intractable conditions did not prevent the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research from taking the appropriate decisions, the latest of which was the move towards adopting the Bologna process , which is adapted from the European Higher Education environment.
Dr. Al-Aboudi continued by saying that our decision was praised by UNESCO, which confirmed that this important shift in the educational systems will be an important factor in rebuilding and enhancing the quality of Higher Education in Iraq.
His Excellency also reviewed that the Iraqi universities have devoted all their energies and efforts in order to achieve their goals that serve the community and for the continuation of their educational mission, and that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has taken its leading role and social responsibility towards several files, especially those related to energy and its use, environment preservation and health and safety, as well as working to identify opportunities for reducing and rationalizing energy use, which are a priority in terms of the sustainable development goals.
Dr. Al-Aboudi honored the top graduate students of Al-Karkh University for Science for the academic year 2021/22 and blessed them with their specialized scientific qualification and their willingness to manage and assume responsibilities after they succeeded in achieving the graduation requirements and academic achievement.
For his part, President of Al-Karkh University of Science, Dr. Thamer Al-Kadhemi said that the university, its specialization track, researchers, and students are determined to keep pace with scientific development and contribute to provide scientific and educational expertise and services.
Dr. Al-Kadhemi and the University’s Scientific Assistant announced on the decision to obtain certificate to graduates in the specializations of remote sensing, geophysics, science, energy and environmental sciences, while the graduates chanted the graduation oath of the third session.
It is worth mentioning that the ceremony was attended by academic staffs and parliament members.
