College of Science Organizes a Scientific Seminar Entitled: “Suicide Prevention: Awareness, Early Detection, and the Role of the University in Psychological Support”

The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a scientific seminar entitled: “Suicide Prevention: Awareness, Early Detection, and the Role of the University in Psychological Support.” The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members and students, as part of the College’s efforts to promote mental health awareness within the academic community.

The seminar covered several key themes, most notably an overview of the causes of suicide and contributing risk factors, the importance of early detection of warning signs, and the role of the university in providing psychological and counseling support, as well as fostering a safe and supportive environment for students.

The seminar witnessed positive engagement from attendees through discussions and contributions that underscored the importance of promoting mental health awareness and strengthening support mechanisms within the university community. At the conclusion of the seminar, emphasis was placed on the necessity of continuing such awareness-raising activities due to their significant impact on protecting students and enhancing their psychological well-being.
