College of Science Organizes Workshop on “Suicide Phenomenon: Warning Signs and Early Intervention”

The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Science, University of Kerbala, organized a workshop entitled “Suicide Phenomenon: Warning Signs and Early Intervention,” as part of its awareness initiatives aimed at promoting mental health within the university community.

The workshop addressed several key themes, including an overview of suicide as a phenomenon and its psychological and social causes, as well as the warning signs that may precede it. It also highlighted early intervention strategies that can help reduce the incidence of such cases and protect individuals at risk.

Furthermore, emphasis was placed on the critical role of both family and university institutions in providing psychological support and fostering a safe and supportive environment that helps students cope with psychological stress.

The workshop witnessed positive engagement from participants through discussions and contributions that enriched the topic, reflecting the importance of such awareness activities in building a conscious and informed academic community.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants emphasized the importance of continuing to organize counseling and awareness programs that enhance psychological well-being and support students across various aspects of life.
